Understanding Accounts is a "finance for non-financial" multimedia CD-ROM to help you read and understand an Annual Report and Accounts, including the Balance Sheet, Income Statement / Profit and Loss Account and Cash Flow Statement.  It also explains the concepts of Assets and Liabilities, Liquidity, Depreciation, Equity and Loan Capital and Gearing, and shows how to use Accounting Ratios to identify trends in a company's financial performance.

For organisations who prefer to distribute training online, we have now created two online e-learning versions of Understanding Accounts. 

One is SCORM compliant for companies who use a learning management system (LMS) to provide access to training and also record learners' activity.  The intention is that this would be installed on the company's own servers and accessed through their intranet.

The other e-learning version of Understanding Accounts does not have SCORM functionality, is held on our server and can be accessed like a website.  We will issue your company with a username and password and a set number of user licences.  These licences are valid for a year, during which time individual learners can access the e-learning as often as they like.

This service is only available to corporate customers.  If you are an individual user and would prefer e-learning to the CD-ROM version, you will be able to find the Understanding Accounts course at Learn Direct.  The cost for an individual learner is the same for either version.

The cost of a training licence for corporate clients starts at £395 + VAT for a 20 users .  There are then substantial discounts in the per user rate, the more users you subscribe.  For a quote, please contact us.

The design of the e-learning version of Understanding Accounts differs from that of the CD-ROM version, as it has been reworked to make it quicker and more efficient when running online either on the web or over a corporate intranet.  The content, however is identical - balance sheet, income statement, profit, loss, gearing, depreciation, cash flow, accounting ratios...
